A New Kind of Seminary

The Institute of Lutheran Theology and its partnering congregations are collaborating to create a new kind of seminary. It is a seminary that grounds every aspect of its work inside the context of Christian congregations. Students live and learn, faculty teach and serve inside a community of congregations partnered with the Institute of Lutheran Theology. Pastors and members participate first-hand in the process that prepares the future leaders of our congregations.

As an independent, multi-location, pan-Lutheran institution we stand together with our partnering congregations to create a new kind of seminary. We equip members and leaders of the Church to know and proclaim faithfully the true gospel of Jesus Christ, our crucified and risen Lord, and to expose the false gospels of the world.

We offer:

  • Scripturally-grounded, solidly Lutheran, pastoral preparation.
  • Christian leadership certification Programs.
  • Adult Christian education.
  • Continuing education opportunities for clergy.
  • Graduate degrees for teachers of theology.

Given our worldwide, Internet-based, educational delivery system, all one needs to participate in real time, interactive theological education is a computer and high-speed internet connection.

A Letter to the Institute

It is a blessing to receive such an encouraging note as this one that came recently from Pastor Bruce Adams of Australia. Pastor Adams highlights a few things of utmost importance for us: the Institute is indeed committed to the Holy Scriptures and our Lutheran Confessions; to fighting against the idolatrous forces of the world seeking to undermine the faith; and we do need prayers to commend into God's hands the work he would have us all to do.     read more >>
